I. Architectural Vision: A Coastal Art Complex of Eight Boulder Volumes

Designed by MAD Architects (led by Ma Yansong), Shenzhen Bay Culture Square takes inspiration from naturally eroded beach boulders, seamlessly integrating eight monolith-like volumes into the coastal landscape across 50,000 square meters and 9 thematic galleries. Its futuristic organic curves offer a fluid canvas for dynamic visual arts.

• Avian & Ecological Motifs - Inside the 21-meter-diameter domed gallery hosting Es Devlin's exhibition, laser projections map an 8-minute migration narrative smoothly across the soaring ceiling, surrounding visitors with soaring birds and dynamic natural rhythms.

• Suspended Installations & Design Universes (Galleries 1 & 10):

Across thematic zones exploring Design for the Future and historical design clues, 360° multi-channel wall blending creates an immersive "design universe." Suspended artifacts combine with cascading light projections to deliver a gravity-defying, three-dimensional experience.

An art installation featuring chairs and other objects hanging from the ceiling in a gallery space. Various chairs are suspended at different heights, creating a floating effect, with some clothing items also hanging among the chairs.

• Craftsmanship & Global Dialogue (Gallery 5 & International Zones):

From wall mapping showcasing traditional ceramics and bamboo weaving to international design collaborations with Tate and the Design Museum, display tech turns static architectural lines into a living narrative.*

III. Behind the Scenes: Appotronics’ Flagship ALPD® Laser Display Technology

To flawlessly execute high-definition digital art within such a complex architectural complex, the underlying display technology plays a decisive role.

Throughout the galleries of Shenzhen Bay Culture Square, Appotronics’ flagship S Pro and S Smart series ALPD® laser projectors serve as the visual engine. Renowned for their exceptional brightness, wide color gamut, and precise curved mapping capabilities, these professional projectors map dynamic art smoothly across complex geometric surfaces with absolute precision.
